"Harriet FeBland achieved
her reputation producing construction sculpture, totems and highly
evocative boxes. Equally significant and not as well known are
her outstanding works on paper, in particular the monotypes and
woodcut block prints. This important group of works highlight
the artists great virtuosity as a printmaker. She does her own
printing and has recently begun to produce the "hanga" method
wood cut. This ancient Japanese method of hand made prints uses
no press." "The 'Chronicle Series' drawings are a
remarkable group of 36 small works which can best be described
as a diary or journal. A succession of psychological blue prints
produced daily during one year of the artist's life. Seen together
they became an insightful and powerful journey of her life experience."
